MADINAH, 13 December 2006 — Police in Madinah received a fake bomb threat at around 8 a.m. yesterday that caused them to search for about four hours in the area of the Taibah Residential and Commercial Center where many pilgrims are residing.
The center, located close to the Prophet’s Mosque, is housing about 6,000 pilgrims. The police conducted their search without ordering the evacuation of the center, possibly out of fear of causing a panic rush.
A similar threat was made last year during Haj at the General Courthouse.
