RIYADH, 14 December 2006 — The Arab News Interschool Cricket Tournament for 2006-2007, organized by Riyadh Cricket Association (RCA), begins in the capital city today .
“A total of three under 19 matches will be played on the first day of the tournament,” Razaur Rahman RCA Adviser told Arab News.
Sixteen teams from 11 schools are entered in this tournament of Under 19 and Under 14 teams . Two groups each was made for under 19 and under 14 teams at the draw held recently in Riyadh. Today’s matches will be played on the RCA grounds starting at 1 p.m.
It will be Indian International School against Sri Lanka International School at RCA 1 grounds, Pakistan International School ( Urdu Section ) against Middle East International School at RCA 2 grounds and Bangladesh International School againstJawahar International School at RCA 5 grounds. The matches will precede a colorful opening ceremony. Parents and cricket lovers are invited to attend this gala event.
