Saudi Arabia is the leading adopter of Cisco technology across the world, posting a record growth in 2006 up from 2005. As a result, Cisco Saudi Arabia has been ranked the fastest growing region in the world.

Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA) Governor Amr Al-Dabbagh congratulated Cisco on its achievement which, he said, proves that leading international companies operating in the Kingdom are getting the right attention, support and business facilities from SAGIA in order to have successful investments in the country.

“We are pleased to see companies like Cisco play an active role in promoting economic competitiveness which leverages the rapid economic growth of Saudi Arabia which is showing strength and great potential,” Al-Dabbagh added.

The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector enhances Saudi Arabia’s competitiveness leading to higher levels of efficiency and productivity which result in attracting more foreign direct investment (FDI) to the country. “This sector has become a driving force for competitiveness in Saudi Arabia,” said Dr. Badr Al-Badr, GM, Cisco Saudi Arabia. “Global organizations, like Cisco, have embraced this new transformation in Saudi Arabia, bringing in global technology and thought leadership to be shared with local businesses and elevate competitiveness to a new level.”

According to Dr. Al-Badr, Cisco’s growth in the Kingdom proves the leading role played by Saudi organizations in adopting innovative technologies and solutions.
