RIYADH, 19 December 2006 — Mobily has introduced the lowest minute rate and a monthly fee for the postpaid subscriber in the Saudi Arabia.
The company has announced the delivery of two packages, which incorporate the “lowest monthly fee available, the simplest tariffs and the most competitive national minute rate available in the Kingdom.”
“The two new packages will have no included services like free minutes and are kept as simple as possible,” a Mobily spokesman said yesterday. The two tariffs are called “Mobily Khatty” and “Mobily Khatty Plus” with monthly fees of SR40 and SR20 respectively.
“Mobily Khatty” will charge 45 halalas per minute to all fixed and mobile networks, whereas “Mobily Khatty Plus” will charge 30 halalas per minute to all networks as well.
The two new postpaid tariffs were launched yesterday. Both tariffs have a unified rate for all national calls. Subscribers always pay the same per minute independent of which network they are calling. In Khatty Plus, subscribers can have “5 Friends & Family” favorite numbers without any additional fee at the cost of 20 halalas per minute, in addition to one International Favorite number without additional fee. Current subscribers of Mobily may covert their previous packages if they wish by contacting the call center at 1100, or dialing the USSD number 1100 proceeded by a star and followed by hash.
Etihad Etisalat, which operates Mobily under the Kingdom’s second mobile phone license, said: “This is not a promotion, but a permanent reduction in our communication tariffs.”
