ISLAMABAD, 21 December 2006 — Crown Prince of Bahrain Sheikh Salman ibn Hamad Al-Khalifa arrived here yesterday on a two-day official visit of Pakistan. He was received by Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz at the Chaklala air base. Later a formal ceremony was held at the prime minister’s house to welcome the crown prince. Contingents of the Pakistan Army, navy and air force presented a guard of honor to the crown prince.
Officials said Prime Minister Aziz and Sheikh Salman held one-on-one talks focusing on trade, bilateral relations, regional and international situation including Iraq and Palestine. The two sides signed two MOUs.
Pakistan and Bahrain are expected to sign a number of agreements today covering bilateral trade, commerce and investment. The Bahraini crown prince will also meet President Pervez Musharraf.
