JEDDAH, 28 December 2006 — Tabuk Governor Prince Fahd was awarded yesterday an honorary membership to the Down’s Syndrome Charitable Association for his support, which the organization says has led to better technical and social services toward children with the genetic disorder.
Pakistani Doctorate for Adnan Katib
JEDDAH, 28 December 2006 — Adnan Katib, chairman of the board of South Asian Pilgrims Establishment, will receive an honorary doctorate degree in advanced management during his upcoming visit to Pakistan after this year’s Haj season, according to Bahrullah Hazarvi, director of the Pakistani Haj mission in Makkah. Hazarvi said the degree is conferred in recognition of Katib’s commendable efforts in the service of pilgrims.
New Girls’ School Under Construction
JEDDAH, 28 December 2006 — The Girls Education Department in Tabuk Region has opened temporary morning classes for girls in Al-Assafiah boys school, 90 km from Taima, in place of night classes in the school. Mohammed Al-Qahtani, head of Girls Education in the region, said yesterday that this would end the hassle of girls going to school at night. A permanent school for girls is under construction.
