MAKKAH, 9 January 2007 — An African woman tried to commit suicide by throwing herself under a car with the police watching, the daily Al-Riyadh reported yesterday. The woman was rushed to hospital where she is recovering from multiple fractures.
Police said the woman threw herself in front of an oncoming vehicle when her husband physically abused her.
