ABHA, 15 January 2007 — The parents of a baby were unable to determine their child’s sex for about 135 days from its birth, the Okaz Arabic daily reported yesterday. The child’s sexual organs were not clearly either male or female. The parents were ashamed of the situation and made sure the child was never left alone with anyone, whether relatives or neighbors. Finally, they took the child to the Asir Central Hospital where the surgeons performed an operation and declared the baby a boy.
Getaway Ruined as Rope Gives Away
JUBAIL, 15 January 2007 — A burglar in Jubail was betrayed by the rope he used in an attempted escape from the top floor of a multistory building on Saturday, the Al-Riyadh Arabic daily reported yesterday. He landed in the hands of security men. The man had successfully burgled the safe of a company head quarters in the building and was using the rope to escape. The rope snapped and he fell to the ground. Security men in an adjoining building rushed to help him. As he was injured and lying in a pool of blood, police were called and the man was taken to hospital where he recovered and confessed to his crime. Police are still investigating.
