RIYAD, 21 January 2007H — A senior Indian diplomat, Bimal Kapoor, died after a massive heart attack here yesterday.
In a condolence message, Indian Ambassador M.O.H. Farook said, “Kapoor was one of the most dynamic and outstanding officers serving in Riyadh mission and I was shocked to learn about his demise immediately after my arrival here from India yesterday.”
Kapoor, 53, is survived by his wife Rita, a son Rohit and daughter Shikha.
Kapoor was chief of the embassy’s consular wing, which extends passport and consular assistance to Indian community living in Saudi Arabia.
