DUBAI, 22 January 2007 — Abu Dhabi-based Sorouh Real Estate has awarded a $545-million contract to UAE-Lebanese joint venture to build the tallest tower in the country’s capital, a London-based weekly reported.
The Arabian Construction Company (ACC) will build the 380-meter high and 83-story Sky Tower, a part of Sorouh’s Shams Abu Dhabi development, according to Middle East Economic Digest (MEED)’s latest edition.
The tower will be the highest building in the UAE’s capital and the 15th tallest in the world, MEED said.
Shams Abu Dhabi is located on Al-Reem Island, approximately 300 meters across from northeastern shore of Abu Dhabi City. It will occupy over 1.560 million square meters, accounting for about 25 percent of Reem Island.
