RIYADH, 22 January 2007 — Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA) and Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) here yesterday to improve competitiveness indicators of the IT and telecommunications sector in line with the goals of 10X10 Program, which seeks to ensure Kingdom’s access to “World Competitiveness Top Ten Countries” by 2010. The MOU was inked by Amr A. Al-Dabbagh, SAGIA governor, while Dr. Mohammad Ibn Ibrahim Al-Suwayel, signed the agreement from CITC side. According to the MOU, the two sides will prepare the appropriate environment to introduce digital technology in service and industrial fields; to support efforts exerted to set up e-government and apply it to all governmental bodies.
