JEDDAH, 24 January 2007 — Al-Ahli and Al-Shabab clash today in Prince Faisal ibn Fahd Cup football tournament to determine the winner of the group who would qualify for the semifinals of the competition.

Shabab and Ahli drew the first leg match of the group 1-1. The match will take place at Prince Faisal ibn Fahd Stadium in Riyadh.

Ahli are top of the group with 13 points from 4 wins and one draw against Shabab. Shabab are second with 11 points from 3 wins and 2 draws. Ahli have two chances, either to win or draw, to qualify for the next round while Shabab’s only option is to win. Shabab are facing many difficulties with many players absent from the team due to their participation in 18th Gulf Cup in UAE.

Also today, Al-Hazem play against All-Taie in the same group. The match has no bearing on the group standings as both teams had bowed out of contention. Al-Hazem have mere three points from one win and four losses and Taie one point from one draw and four losses.
