JEDDAH, 25 January 2007 — Students of Al Nujoom International School achieved outstanding results in IGCSE “O” and “A” level examinations in the academic year 2006 conducted by the University of Cambridge, England, in November, according to Naheed Bukhari, the school’s senior academic coordinator.
Its top achievers secured “A” grades in most of the subjects. “It’s a matter of great pleasure that the students of Al Nujoom have set new records by improving on the previous year’s results with excellent grades,” said Naheed.
Sabrina Habib was one of the outstanding students of the school who got first position securing “A” grades in seven “O” level subjects, followed by Mohammed Ashraf, who got one A+ and 2 As in his three selected subjects. Fahrah Hersi secured 4 A+ and 2 As. Farha Haque got 3 A+ and 4 As and Yamna Javed bagged 5 As and 1 B.
Students who appeared in the advanced subsidiary (AS) exam also performed well. Students who undertook IGCSE have achieved 99.5 percent pass rate, and students pertaining advanced subsidiary (AS) levels in English have achieved grades A to E with a 96.3 percent pass rate, and A level students attained 90 percent pass rate, said school Principal Mrs. Intisaar I. Al Somali.
