Tas’helat held a reception for its corporate customers to celebrate the success of “Sahl” — the smartcard fleet management system that was introduced to the market two years ago. Riad Al-Malik, Tas’helat general manager, said “Tas’helat is leading the car services industry with its chain of retail fuel outlets (203 gas stations) in 28 cities, sales volume that exceeded SR1 billion in 2006 and 50 years of experience.” Mohammed Fathallah, Tas’helat corporate sales manager, said “Tas’helat research and development team is always working to improve the fueling procedure, starting with voucher, then coupons, and last but not least “Sahl” solution. He said the trial period that has been launched in different companies since 2003 saved fuel consumption 10 to 15 percent. “Sahl system proved its effectiveness,” he noted.
NORASIA
CSAV Norasia has announced important changes to its Asia Black Sea (ABS) service that will strengthen the service and offer further choice to customers. With effect from early March, the service will be upgraded to eight vessels and will add calls in Xingang and Qingdao in Northern China and eastbound calls in Jeddah and Chiwan. After the service enhancement, CSAV NORASIA will operate seven of the eight vessels on the service, which operates with vessels of average capacity of 4,200 TEUs and speed of 22.5 knots. Port rotation will be as follows: Xingang/Qingdao/Shanghai/Ningbo/Keelung/Chiwan/Port Klang/Jeddah/Port Said/Constanza/Odessa/Istanbul/Port Said/Jeddah/Colombo/Port Klang/Chiwan/Xingang.

Final Cut Film Production FZ LLC, a leading Egyptian film production company, announced yesterday that it will develop a one million dirhams production facility at the Dubai Studio City. To be built over an area of 990 sq. ft., the facility will include a state-of-the-art sound studio for feature films and commercial productions.
SHUAA CAPITAL
SHUAA Capital, the UAE’s leading investment bank, announced yesterday the appointment of Mohammed Ali Yasin as managing director of its brokerage arm, SHUAA Securities. Yasin will also oversee Emirates Securities, the largest private brokerage firm in the UAE, and now part of SHUAA Securities. SHUAA Capital has recently upped its ownership in Emirates Securities from a 50 percent to a 90 percent stake.
