RIYADH, 1 February 2007 — What goes into a winning speech?
Ron Jacobe, a multi-awarded public speaker based in Riyadh, will share his secrets in a seminar at White Palace Hotel along the old airport road in Riyadh tomorrow, starting at 3 p.m.
Toastmasters International (Gulf) Dis-trict 79 is organizing the event through Division “A” in Riyadh, in cooperation with PICPA Riyadh Toastmasters Club (PRTC), one of the earliest and active clubs in the central region.
Jacobe will teach the “ingredients” or basic components of a winning speech and what it takes to catch the attention of the audience throughout one’s speech.
“The basic skill and art of public speaking is a key that can open numerous doors of great opportunities to anyone who has it. But for someone who has it in its finest form, grander gates of opportunities await,” said Jacobe, who was the champion in the Gulf Toastmasters Annual Conference (GTAC) in Dubai in 2003.
Jacobe is the immediate past governor of Toastmaster Area 5 in Riyadh and a member of PRTC. He is also the training manager of Jarir Bookstore and a people development specialist for over 12 years.
Jacobe waived his fee for his participation as a resource speaker in favor of PRTC’s various programs.
Ben Lee, the incoming PRTC president for the second term in 2006-2007, said the seminar is open not just to Toastmasters members but others who are interested in public speaking.

Lee explained that the Toastmasters movement is open to all who wish to improve their communication and leadership skills. There are various clubs all over the Kingdom, which are open to members, regardless of nationality, gender, creed or age.
These clubs are among more than 10,500 club members of Toastmasters International, which was founded in 1925 by a group of men in California.
