CAIRO, 6 February 2007 — Egyptian director Khaled Yusuf refuted the charge that he has too many sensual scenes in his films, especially in his latest work “Kheyana Mashroua” with Hani Sulamah, Samiya Al-Khashab, Hisham Salim, Mae Ezzedine and Sandy in the cast, the Al-Watan newspaper reported yesterday.
Khaled said he does not consider partially nude and love scenes to be offensive and that such scenes have always been a part of Egyptian cinema.
He also claimed that the Egyptian viewers, with their open-minded approach to art, have never been critical of films in this way.
