JIZAN, 12 February 2007 — A Saudi school principal fed up by three disobedient teachers at her school asked her brother, a passport department official, to arrest them on their way home from school, reported the Al-Jazirah newspaper. In spite of the principal asking the three teachers to not leave school early, the teachers had proceeded to leave early with the school’s minibus driver. Angry that she had been disobeyed, the principal contacted her brother, who stopped the three teachers and arrested the driver claiming he was in violation of the Kingdom’s residential laws. The three teachers were subsequently taken to a police station. The family of the three teachers have said they will file a lawsuit against the principal and the passport official for misusing their powers.
