BAHA, 13 August 2007 — Authorities here sentenced a 24-year-old man to 70 lashes in public for insulting police officers. Said Al-Ghamdi, a police spokesman, told Al-Madinah daily that this is the first time that a person is being lashed for insulting policemen.
