Lockheed Martin, the world’s largest defense contractor and the US government’s No. 1 information technology provider, and Wipro Technologies, a division of Wipro Limited, have agreed to establish a Network Centric Operations Center in Gurgaon, India. Known as Ambar Jyoti, this lab will develop, demonstrate and experiment with emerging network-enabled capabilities and applications.
The center is designed to leverage Wipro’s embedded, telecom and enterprise expertise in creating data centric solutions for the future. Lockheed Martin and Wipro Technologies will utilize cutting-edge technologies and real environment emulation to develop Net-enabled capabilities and solutions to employ against current, real-world problems.
Ambar Jyoti will provide an opportunity for indigenous development and experimentation to identify future capabilities and requirements in network-centric operations for potential civil and military application.
In the coming months, Lockheed Martin will network Ambar Jyoti with other such similar centers across the globe so that an increased number of more complex, real-time, real-world demonstrations can take place in this Indian facility.
Another major US-headquartered company, Owens Corning, has signed a collaborative agreement with Anutone Acoustics, India’s foremost acoustics technology company, to promote jointly-branded, architectural acoustic solutions throughout the GCC and SAARC regions.
The agreement, which combines Anutone’s extensive knowledge of acoustical sciences, the construction industry and regional markets with Owens Corning’s acoustic expertise and product range, will initially focus on development, promotion and distribution of Owens Corning acoustical systems for professional and public environments. These include offices, IT-enabled service spaces (ITES), hotels, convention centers and entertainment venues such as multiplex cinemas and sports stadiums.
Under the terms of the agreement, the building material and acoustical solutions of Owens Corning will be linked with the Anutone brand, which will bring building owners, architects and consultants state-of-the-art acoustical systems that are customized to the requirements of virtually any interior.
Reflecting the extent of the collaboration, Owens Corning will use its global reach to explore the business potential for Anutone’s innovative, rugged acoustical products and systems in key markets outside the SAARC and GCC areas. Anutone will also have access to the high-technology facilities of Owens Corning in the United States for research engineering in acoustics. This will include the Acoustics Research Center at Granville, Ohio, which is regarded by experts across the globe as being one of the world’s Top 4 acoustical laboratories.
