JEDDAH, 18 August 2007 — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah ordered yesterday immediate payment of $40 million in aid to Sudan and Mauritania, which have suffered heavy losses following heavy rains and floods. The king also ordered the concerned departments to arrange the airlifting of the emergency supplies, including medical, relief and food supplies to these two countries in coordination with the Saudi Red Crescent Society and in cooperation with the international agencies and the local governments, according to a statement of the Royal Court yesterday.
