RIYADH, 21 August 2007 — Many Saudi and Gulf businesswomen are being targeted in fake Internet business deals run by professional con men, Al-Riyadh newspaper reported yesterday. The scam, which was advertised on Internet forums, asks gullible women to deposit money in accounts promising them high returns. Many women have deposited thousands of riyals with hopes of doubling and tripling their money only to lose their life’s savings.
