ALKHOBAR, 3 September 2007 — Delfin Mendiola dela Cruz, a CAD designer of Sofcon Engineering Company in Alkhobar, has been missing since Aug. 22.
Dela Cruz’s older brother Felipe, also known as Pan, said his sibling was last seen taking his lunch at the food court in Rahmaniyah Mall.
“He has not been reporting to work for more than a week now and we are worried of his clueless disappearance,” the older dela Cruz said.
“We have asked the POLO to investigate the case,” he said, referring to the Philipine Overseas Labor Office.
Labor Attaché David Des Dicang, head of the POLO Eastern Region Operation, said his office will coordinate with the employer to ascertain Delfin’s whereabouts and, if required, to get the authorities to open his housing accommodation in downtown Alkhobar to start the investigation.
The older dela Cruz said his brother was alone in his accommodation but he doesn’t want to think something bad happened to him in his room.
“I wish somebody would call me and tell that Delfin is alive,” he said.
