DAMMAM, 4 September 2007 — The Eastern Province Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EPCCI) will host on Nov. 17 a 3-day Saudi Investment Forum.

Under the auspices of Eastern Province Governor Prince Muhammad ibn Fahd, the forum would accelerate the flow of foreign investment and vitalize the private sector in the region, Abdul Rahman Al-Rashid, chairman of the board of directors of the EPCCI, said.

Discussions will focus on plans for sustained economic growth in the Kingdom, the requirements of the business sector for the development of the infrastructure, development of the transport sector to fulfill the needs of the industrial sector, project financing, oil, natural gas, petrochemical and refinery projects, building, real estate and services sector, investment opportunities in the telecommunication and information sector, among others.

An expo will be held on the sidelines of the forum that would exhibit various investment opportunities available in different sectors.

This would the largest ever exhibition held by the EPCCI, said Adnan Al-Naeem, secretary general of the chamber.

“The giant projects in the region offer unlimited investment opportunities worth about $ 690 billion over the next 15 years,” he added.
