Despite the marginal positive change the BMG Saudi Index witnessed on Monday, it could not be saved from a conspicuous loss yesterday. The index lost 7.84 points in yesterday’s session moving back by 1.86 percent to reach a closing level of 413.17 points. Furthermore, the turnover of the index was not any luckier as it went down by 26.9 percent to SR3.8 billion.
Neither the sectors nor stocks witnessed any increase whatsoever. Regarding the sectors’ performances, the agricultural sector was the biggest loser as it lost 44.44 points, while the services sector came in second to go down by 4.97 percent. The industrial sector declined by 21.47 points only.
Despite the fact that all stocks in the index went down, the index did not plunge dramatically as the decrease in the two stocks with the largest market caps, Al-Rajhi Bank and SABIC, were not the worst performers.
Al-Rajhi Bank’s stock, whose weight in the index is 48.57 percent, declined by 1.16 percent while SABIC’s stock, which weighs 40.08 percent, dropped by1.93 percent.
