BMG Saudi Index managed to end the first trading day of this week on a positive note. The index went back to its positive performance after a week characterized by major losses, and after yesterday’s session closed, the index gained 9.51 points; increasing by 2.31 percent from last Wednesday’s trading session, and it reaching a closing level of 420.6 points. The total value of stocks traded in the index reached SR3.38 billion ($902 million), which is higher than last Wednesday’s turnover by 20.4 percent.
The sector’s indexes ended the session moving upward. The industrial sector topped the list adding 20.4 additional points to its stack and increasing by 2.1 percent. The agriculture sector followed, growing by 2 percent and winning an extra 16.6 points, whereas the services sector improved by 1.1 percent to finish yesterday’s session adding 10.47 points.
The big cap stocks were characterized by strong performance in yesterday’s trading session. Both Al-Rajhi’s and SABIC’s stocks advanced.
