RIYADH, 13 September 2007 — Citymax, an all-time leader of the fashion-wear market, has teamed up with jewelry giant L’azurde to launch a high-profile campaign under which a total of 462 gold jewelry sets will be given to customers during the holy month of Ramadan. These jewelry sets are part of the Miss L’azurde signature collection, promoted by leading Arabic singer Elissah, who is the brand ambassador of L’azurde for the Middle East.
This was announced by Ravi Krishnan, Citymax general manager, here on Tuesday. Krishnan said that “all 33 Citymax stores across the Kingdom will celebrate the holy month by holding weekly lucky-dips under the supervision of the officials of the respective chambers of commerce”. This powerful Citymax-L’azurde campaign promises to solidify the role of Citymax brands as a market leader and a point of reference in the modern-day collective imagination, he said.
Spelling out the salient features of this campaign, Krishnan said that “every visitor to our store will be eligible to take part in this month-long program, which is primarily aimed to reward the loyalty of our customers.” He said that a wide variety of fashionable clothes for all ages, ranging from formals to casual weekend outfits, are on sale at exceptional value prices as a part of this promotion.
He further pointed out that “the customers will be given coupons to participate in the draws and a total of four draws will be held every week in the stores to select the winners of the 18-carat gold jewelry sets”. Krishnan said that “this is the first high-value promotion of its kind to be organized by a fashion retailer in Saudi Arabia”. The first lucky dip to choose winners will be held on Sept. 23 to mark the national day of the Kingdom.
“This will be followed by three similar draws on Sept. 27, Oct. 4 and Oct. 11 to be organized in all Citymax stores,” said Krishnan. He pointed out that a total of 132 gold jewelry sets in seven world-class designs will be given to the winners in the first and second weeks of Ramadan. Another 132 jewelry sets will be up for grabs during the third week, while 198 sets will be distributed following the lucky draw in the fourth week, he said.
This Ramadan campaign, he said, also coincides with the launching of the Citymax winter collections. Moreover, the customers will have added enthusiasm to participate in the draws and win L’azurde gold collections, said Krishnan. Citymax is a major fashion retailer. It is currently on an expansion course with a new store to be opening in Azizia district of the capital this week. Citymax has been opening 12 new stores every year. On the other hand, “L’azurde is one of the largest manufacturers of gold and jewelry in the world,” said Ayman Al-Haffar, L’azurde’s executive general manager. It has wholesale offices in major cities in Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Egypt besides some retail showrooms in a few Gulf countries. L’azurde, which produces 21K and 18K gold jewelries including full sets, half sets, necklaces, bracelets, rings and pendants, exports its products to different countries in the Gulf region and abroad.
Referring to the offers given by Citymax, Krishnan said that “Citymax stores set the standards for the discount retailing market by providing the customer with an enjoyable shopping experience at great value for money.” Many of Citymax’s customers enjoy the great selection of children’s clothes, and footwear that come at amazing value, as for the homemakers; they can select from Citymax’s range of house wares and ornaments, he added.
This month Citymax is holding their annual Ramadan sale adding to their already valuable range of merchandise. “During this promotion you can buy good quality items for truly amazing prices,” said the Citymax executive, adding that the stores are truly the new face of discount retailing. “Our Ramadan sale is just one way to show appreciation to our customers, who have played a major role in our success,” said the Citymax general manager.
