MANAMA, 17 September 2007 — Bahrain and Pakistan will establish a joint investment company with capital of $100 million, a step seen as a major boost to the development of trade, investment and commercial ties between the two countries, Ambassador of Pakistan Iftikhar Hussain Kazmi said yesterday. Kazmi, who sealed an agreement with the Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dr Esam Abdulla Fakhro on behalf of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) to establish a joint business council, said that there was a big room to enhance the existing trade, commerce and investment ties between the two sides. The deal will pave the way to establish the 24-member Bahrain-Pakistan Joint Business Council (JBC) with an equal number of participation from the BCCI and the (FPCCI).
