Best Player of the game Ayman Al-Ahmadi scored the only goal of the match. In the second match, Al-Fao Bagaddou defeated Bridgestone 2-1 with Faisal Seif of the winning team taking Best Player honors. Hilal Set for Wehda Match

JEDDAH, 18 September 2007 — Al-Hilal football team arrived in Abu Dhabi yesterday for the away match in the quarterfinal series against Al-Wehda of UAE tomorrow in the AFC Champions League. Hilal delegation included Khalid Aziz, who was suspended from playing for his club locally only until the end of the season for bolting training camp without prior notice. Meanwhile, Hilal club is awaiting reply from Al-Ittihad after making an offer of SR7 million to Hamad Al-Muntashiri whose contract with Ittihad ends next month.

World No. 2 Joins Ahli TT Squad

JEDDAH, 18 September 2007 — Chinese player Hao Wang, No. 2 in the table tennis world rankings, joined Al-Ahli table tennis team on loan for 10,000 euros. Hao will be Ahli’s import during the Arab Table Tennis Championship which starts Oct. 17 in Jordan, according to table tennis team supervisor Nabeel Al-Mighawi. He said the team are deep in training for the regional event.

Ittihad Football Coach Quits

JEDDAH, 18 September 2007 — Al-Ittihad coach Brazilian Candinho has quit his job at the Jeddah-based football club and returning home to be with his ailing daughter. Candinho announced his decision during a press conference at the club headquarters here. “My daughter had been suffering and now she needs me more,” said the coach who in 12 games with the team including the last three rounds at the Saudi Football League Ittihad did not lose except the last time against Al-Qadisiya, when he received the phone call from his family regarding his 15 year-old daughter’s health. Serbian Slimo Vich will take Candino’s place temporarily until Ittihad sign former Ahli club coach Nebusha.

Ahli Academy Third Course

JEDDAH, 18 September 2007 — Yesterday, Al-Ahli Football Academy kicked off its third course for the club administrators dubbed “Scientific Rules for Technical Management at Football Academies.” Mufti Ibrahim, general manager at the academy, is lecturing the five-days course. The course will tackle subjects such as essentials of football management and how to raise a fine footballer the Ahli academy way. They will also speak about fitness education and the role and duties a team manager holds. At the end of the course, certificates of completion will be distributed.
