JEDDAH, 20 September 2007 — Five Sri Lankan men are suspected of attempting to murder a Saudi taxi driver in his 30s, the daily Al-Madinah reported yesterday. The victim was found unconscious and bleeding on a Jeddah street on Monday. The Saudi man said that the men had robbed him and then decided to kill him to cover their tracks. The victim said he escaped by faking death. Three of the suspects are in custody while the other two have been identified but are at large.
