BURAIDAH, 20 September 2007 — “Ramadan Nights,” a 10-day family and cultural festival, which is being held at the Al-Masa Ballroom at Buraidah’s Movenpick Hotel, has been attracting large crowds of revelers, according to the organizers.
“The festival includes various entertainment activities as well as religious, traditional events and children’s activities, and competitions,” said Ezzat Saleh Al-Subaihi, the deputy director of the hotel. “These Ramadan activities are attracting large numbers of visitors every day,” he said.
Abdul Aziz ibn Abdullah Al-Humaidan, the assistant deputy governor of the Qassim region, attended this year’s festival. He expressed delight at the fact that the festival carries an educational message for youngsters.
“It is a unique chance for our youngsters to adopt positive attitudes and get the best possible information in a world full of distracting negative information channels such as the Internet and satellite television channels,” Al-Humaidan said.
The festival has been organized by Buraidah’s Movenpick Hotel, which has been recently opened and is the only international chain in the region. “It is part of our mission to serve the community and organize such cultural and educational festivities,” Al-Subaihi said.
“We want to make this festival more exciting and interesting for visitors through a range of contests and games with valuable prizes that are presented by a number of private establishments and companies operating in Qassim,” said Ibrahim Al-Majhadi, the executive director of the festival.
