YANBU, 22 September 2007 — Police are investigating the murder and beheading of an Asian woman after finding her body behind a petrol station on the Yanbu Al-Nakhl Road.
“The head of the woman was removed and was not seen nearby,” an informed security source told Arab News.
A doctor was called to ascertain the reason for the woman’s death.
Brig. Jameel ibn Attiyah Al-Raheeli, director of Yanbu police and Col. Yaaqub Al-Hashimi, director of police in Yanbu Al-Bahr, are following up the case.
“We received a call informing about the presence of a woman’s dismembered body,” the source said.
Officers of Yanbu police including criminal investigators moved to the area soon after receiving the news. But they were not able to find the corpse’s head.
“We have started an investigation into this incident,” Raheeli told Arab News. “We will announce all details after the completion of investigation.”
