JEDDAH, 28 September 2007 — Over 15,000 participants competed in the Goal Striker in Jeddah and Riyadh, which marked the end of Mobily Summer Olympics 2007, the organizers said. The Goal Striker was staged at Granada Center in Riyadh and Serafi Mega Mall in Jeddah. The first round of the race began on July 25 in the presence of a large number of spectators. “The program has been a big success and so was extended through the summer festivals held in the capital and Jeddah,” Abdullah Bakhashab whose company organized the event told the media.

Mobile sets were presented to the winners who included Abdullah Qassam, Abdul Majid Nassar and Mohamed Ahmed of Riyadh, and Fadi Mahmoud, Sameh Ali and Ahmed Salama of Jeddah. The competition involved a projector system connected to a computer that showed images of the goals scored and gave the scores and results.

Mobily had announced its participation in the summer festivals this year at the sports villages established in Jeddah and Alkhobar where beach football, beach basketball and beach volleyball were successfully organized. The villages also held other challenges including those related to electronic games and play stations.
