RIYADH, 28 September 2007 — Ah, Ramadan: The holy month of fasting, not to mention the little thing about people staying up for most of the night. This nocturnal flip-flop during Ramadan has been known to wreak havoc among students who forego going to bed at a decent hour, often with the endorsement and encouragement of their families. This, of course, becomes a problem for school students. Teachers often complain of dreary eyed kids who are unable to concentrate on their studies. The daily Okaz reported yesterday that a father became alarmed when teachers informed him that his son had not arrived at school. Knowing that his child had boarded a bus in the morning, the father went immediately to the school to try to find his boy. Turns out that the kid fell asleep in the back of the school bus. He was found there, still asleep, catching up from a Ramadan all-nighter.
