JEDDAH, 1 October 2007 — The Pakistan Journalists Forum (PJF) elected its new office holders for a two-year term at a meeting early yesterday. Amir Mohammad Khan was elected chairman, Shahid Nayeem, president and Mohammad Jamil Rathore, general secretary. New executive body members are Rauf Tahir and Syed Absar. Shahid Hassan oversaw the election.
The PJF meeting also condemned the police action against journalists and lawyers in Pakistan on Saturday that left a number of people injured.
