JEDDAH, 3 October 2007 — Bank Albilad’s board of directors approved its development plan in a meeting held in Makkah recently. Musaed Al-Sinani, the bank’s chairman, said the new plan would improve its services. He also announced the appointment of Razi Faqeeh, founder of Islamic banking at HSBC, as Albilad’s executive vice president.
Qatar Airways Opens Stockholm Route
DUBAI, 3 October 2007 — Qatar Airways is preparing for its second European route of the year with nonstop scheduled flights to the Swedish capital Stockholm. Beginning November 27, it will operate four non-stop flights a week between Doha and Stockholm-Arlanda International Airport, using an Airbus A319.
