DUBAI, 7 October 2007 — Media and Marketing Show (MMS) 2007 will highlight the growth potential of the Middle East’s $4 billion communications sector, organizers Domus Group announced yesterday. MMS 2007, which is set to be 30 per cent larger in its third year, will be held on Nov. 11-13 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center. The show’s exhibitor profile includes MBC; Qatar Media Services (QMS), Sawt Al-Khalij; and Kuwaiti major Al-Wataniya. “This year, the Media and Marketing Show will provide a new direction to the industry through events highlighting its enormous growth potential,” said Abdullah Abulhoul, managing director of Domus Group.”

Abyaar Registers Robust Turnover

DUBAI — Abyaar Real Estate Development has recorded an exceptional first six months for 2007, achieving 50 percent growth in turnover in comparison to the same period last year, with a net profit of $32,100,000 (AED118,206,560) and an increase in share profit of AED1.9. The Abyaar board met recently and confirmed a gross profit of approximately AED118 million for the six month period ending June 30, 2007. Abyaar Vice Chairman and Managing Director Marzooq Al-Rashdan said the company has been approved for listing on the Kuwait Stock Exchange and will shortly announce the first day of trading soon. Abyaar is also studying the idea of being listed in the Dubai Financial Market.

Foreign Investors Buy More Shares

DUBAI — Dubai Financial Market announced that the value of shares and bonds bought by foreign investors during last week reached AED2.463 billion, comprising 39.1 percent of the total value of stocks traded during the period. The value of stocks sold by foreign investors during the same period reached AED1.857 billion, representing 29.5 percent of the total value of stocks traded during the period. Net foreign investment on the market reached AED606.9 million during the same period.

ETA Star, Pakistan Clinch Water Project

DUBAI — ETA Star Group has signed an implementation agreement worth AED500 million with Pakistan Ministry of Water and Power for setting up a power project in Dharki, Sindh. TransAsia Gas International, a subsidiary of Al-Ghurair Investment is a co-investor in the project. ETA’s subsidiary Star Power Generation Ltd. will spearhead the gas-fired combined cycle 134MW Independent Power Project. The plant will be allocated with low BTU gas by Pakistan from its Mari Deep reserves for 25 years. Project completion is seen by 2010.
