AMMAN, 28 October 2007 — The Arab Bank Group raised its net profits after tax by 15.6 percent in the first nine months of the year to $572 million from $494.9 million in the same period of 2006, the group’s chairman Abdul Hamid Shoman said yesterday.

The group’s total assets grew by 22 percent in the first three quarters of the year to $37.2 billion, compared with $30.5 billion in the same period of 2006.

Shoman also reported a 25 percent increase in the group’s budget to $52.6 billion from $42.2 billion.

He attributed the growth to the policies pursued by the bank.
