DUBAI, 28 October 2007 — As part of continues efforts to support national aviation sector, the United Arab Emirates has initialed Air Services Agreement (ASA) and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Kingdom of Spain in Madrid on Oct. 25, 2007. Heading the UAE delegation to Spain, Sultan ibn Saeed Al-Mansoori, minister of Development for Government Sector, in his capacity as the chairman of General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), signed the agreement, while the Spanish government was represented by the minister of Development of Spain Magdalena Alvarez Arza. The agreement includes multi-designations in which the designated airlines of each party will be permitted to operate unlimited weekly passenger frequencies and capacity in each direction with any type of aircraft, and to operate all cargo services with full traffic rights including fifth freedom traffic right without any restrictions.
DREC Supports ‘Green Buildings’
DUBAI, 28 October 2007 — Dubai Real Estate Corporation (DREC) is extending its full support to the remarkable initiative “green buildings” of Sheikh Mohammed ibn Rashid Al-Maktoum, vice president and prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai. The initiative encourages buildings in Dubai to be constructed with green building standards from January 2008.
Empower, Dubai Properties in Deal
DUBAI, 28 October 2007 — Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation yesterday signed a contract with Dubai Properties to supply 44,000 tons of district cooling to Culture Village, a destination offering an inspired mix of Arabic and old Dubai architecture within a contemporary, urbane setting. Hashim Al-Dabal, executive chairman of DP, and Ahmad Bin Shafar, Empower CEO, signed the deal.
