DUBAI, 30 October 2007 — In a major initiative toward promoting exports from the emirate, the Dubai Export Development Corporation (DEDC), has partnered with the Dubai Economic Department and the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting to launch a dedicated trade event — Dubai Industrial Investment and Partnership Forum (DIIPF). The event, combining a conference and exhibition, will be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center (DICEC) on Feb. 4-6, 2008. It is aimed at strengthening Dubai’s manufacturing capabilities and capacities and significantly increasing the export sector’s share of the emirate’s GDP over the next five years.
Sea Food Expo Opens in Dubai
DUBAI, 30 October 2007 — Sea Food Expo 2007, the Middle East’s first exhibition dedicated to the seafood industry, was opened yesterday at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dubai. The exhibition, inaugurated by Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al-Janahi, director of Fisheries, Ministry of Environment & Water, UAE, will run through Wednesday. The event has attracted 85 international exhibitors from 16 countries, including Oman, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Taiwan, UK, China, India, the Philippines, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Thailand, Maldives, Papua New Guinea and Mauritius.
