JEDDAH, 8 November 2007 — The Al-Ahli football clubs of the UAE and Saudi Arabia play a friendly match on Saturday at the Prince Sultan ibn Fahd Stadium. UAE’s Ahli team are expected to arrive here today. Meanwhile, Ahli club President Ahmed Al-Marzook announced their new Brazilian footballer Wilson Antonio Junior arrived yesterday and will join the team in training today.

Al-Muntashiri’s Waiting Game

JEDDAH — Al-Ittihad club defender Hamad Al-Muntashiri said he received the partial amount of the SR7 million club president Mansour Al-Balawi promised him to continue playing for Ittihad for five years. Al-Muntashiri said, “they promised to give me the rest of the money on Saturday and I’m waiting for that so I can sign my contract with Ittihad.”

Chico’s Wife’s Ultimatum

JEDDAH — The wife of former Ittihad player Brazilian Anderson Sampas nicknamed Chico has warned him not to go back to Saudi Arabia or she would divorce him if he insisted. The wife has a job at a hospital in Brazil and wants to stay there. Chico is determined to get back to Ittihad and trying to convince his wife to join him in Jeddah instead of just visiting him from time to time.
