JEDDAH, 12 November 2007 — The Annual Sports Day of the International Indian School, Jeddah (IISJ), was held with pomp and show here on Friday. Blue House with 225 points bagged the overall house championship in the boys’ section, while Yellow House with 213 points was the winner in the girls’ section.
In VI-VIII Block, the Green House with 149 points and in III-V Block Blue House with 119 points were judged the overall winners. Principal M.S. Rahman welcomed the guests. Farha Sayeed, wife of Consul General Ausaf Sayeed, was the chief guest in the girls’ section and former chairman of the school managing committee Rafiuddin Fazalbhoy presided over the boys’ section functions. Farha and Effath Kazi gave away prizes to the winners.
The individual girls’ championship was clinched by Kulsoom of the Yellow House in senior category and Shaima Mohammed of Red House in the junior category. Oliyan Basit and Abdul Juman Bin Hilabi of Blue House won the individual championship among senior and junior boys category, respectively. Muzaffar and Kikhil Ramesh in under 14 category, Irfan Alam and Abdul Muqtadir in under 12 category, Roshan Philip in under 11, Nuwais Sadiq in under 10 and Hakeem in under 9 category, were declared individual winners.
The members of the school managing committee Sultan Mazharuddin, Syed Sharique Ali, Salah Karadan, Akbar Batcha and Tajuddin P.M. were among the distinguished guests who attended the function. The vote of thanks was proposed by vice principal of the girls’ section, Farhadunnisa.
