The BMG Saudi Index went up again yesterday by a marginal 1 percent to close at 521.2 points. The market turnover also jumped having increased by SR997 million to reach SR3.9 billion ($1.04 billion), increasing by 34.7 percent.
The sectors closed in yesterday’s session on a mixed note. The Agricultural sector was the top performer having climbed by 1.8 percent and followed by the Industrial sector which went up by 1.1 percent. However, the Services sector deteriorated by 2.0 percent to be crowned the worst performer, and followed by the Insurance sector which went down by a very marginal 0.2 percent.
Seventeen shares advanced placing Saudi Industrial Export Company at the top with a 9.8 percent increase in its share price to close at SR78.5 per share. Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC), was one of the advancers to register a 1.5 percent increase in its share price, closing at SR168.5 per share. The worst performing share was Emaar’s, a constituent of the Services sector, which dropped by 4.0 percent to SR18.25 per share.
