MADINAH, 19 November 2007 — A young man received a call from his father-in-law who asked to meet him outside his house to discuss some family matters. The young man, who had recently had a falling out with his wife, thought his father-in-law wanted to meet him to urge the couple to put their differences behind them and reconcile, the daily Al-Watan reported yesterday. What he didn’t expect was to be chased around the house with a machine gun and be shot at. When the young man reached the house, he was greeted by his angry gun-toting father-in-law. As the young man cautiously pulled over, the father-in-law opened fire. The young man fled the scene, with no injuries and reported the attempted assault to local law enforcement officials. The report did not say what the young man did to incur his father-in-law’s wrath.
