Empowering Those Living With Epilepsy

The Epilepsy Therapy Project has unveiled its new epilepsy.com website. The updated site features expanded social networking and community space, personal epilepsy management tools and integrated videos to complement the more than 3500 pages of in-depth editorial content created by leading epilepsy specialists to help patients and physicians better treat and control seizures.

A highlight of the new epilepsy.com site is a management tool that allows patients and families to maintain a complete electronic record of issues related to living with epilepsy. Patients will be able to keep track of seizures, medications and other epilepsy treatments, as well as side-effects and other health-related observations.

New Fire Systems to Improve Safety

GENTECH is showing off new addressable fire alarm systems. The new alarm system incorporates unique notifying technology called Exit Point to clearly guide people to the nearest exit when the alarm is activated. GENTECH has also introduced the First Vision fire system, which enables fire fighters to find specific information on the source of the fire alarm via a small screen installed near the entrance of a building. The screen will display information such as the source of the detection, fastest route to the fire, and other exit points. The new smart systems should enable fire fighters to tackle a fire faster, thereby significantly reducing the probability of loss of property or life.
