YANBU, 21 November 2007 — Police in Yanbu recently arrested two men who, dressed in police uniforms, robbed SR4,000 from an Asian expatriate who walking home alone at night.
The man telephoned police informing them about the robbery and details of the men’s getaway car, a blue Toyota Camry. A team of police officers led by Capt. Saleh Al-Saydalani searched the area close to a brick factory where the theft took place but could not find the culprits.
The Camry was located two hours after the crime on Al-Quds Street, close to a school, with the suspects inside.
On searching the car police recovered a police uniform. The men, known criminals with a history of impersonating police officers, were later identified by their victim and are currently awaiting trial.
