Neither an orator, nor someone dumb,
Just a simple stutterer am I.
A gift of God and that’s how it did come,
Nothing to worry, or feel shy.
Yet when it comes to talking,
I feel myself fall apart.
Then begins the mocking,
That’s what breaks my heart.
All confidence I had gathered,
Swept away by that giant wave. All dreams and hopes shattered,
Not even one can I save.
Oh God! Why me?
Why this to me?
Why only me?
Why always me?
A shipwrecked sailor,
A slave never free.
An evergreen failure,
A leafless tree.
Then replies come,
“Don’t cry.
Just remember —
A butterfly is born,
Only from a caterpillar.”
