DAMMAM, 26 November 2007 — In a bid to serve the expanding business activities in the Eastern Province, the Abdul Mohsen Al-Hokair Group has nearly completed four towers designed to house large administrative offices and headquarters of international specifications at a strategic location in the province, Sami Al-Hokair vice executive president of the group, said in a press conference in Dammam yesterday.
The new facility called Novotel Business Park includes a five-star hotel to cater to both domestic and international businessmen and tourists visiting the region.
“We were prompted to launch on the Novotel Business Park including the hotel following the Eastern Province Governor Prince Muhammad ibn Fahd’s observation that the region required more hotels to satisfy the needs of businessmen and tourists coming to the region in increasing numbers every year” Al-Hokair said.
According to available studies, more than 40 percent of the visitors in the region were regional and foreign businessmen, he said.
“The SR250 million Novotel Business Park, located on Alkhobar-Dammam Highway is close to most major industrial and commercial centers in the region, headquarters of the Eastern Province Chamber of Commerce and Industry and several government offices. Each tower has six floors.” He also observed that the region needed more residential buildings, commercial malls and amusement cities besides hotels and office buildings. “This complex is the first of its kind in the eastern region to satisfy the requirements of the business community,” he said.
The complex also houses a health club, restaurants of international standards, conference halls and wedding halls in addition to a parking facility with capacity for 1,000 cars.
Al-Hokair said 40 percent of the towers have already been booked by international companies working in the fields of oil, energy, water, electricity and contracting, in addition to banks and real estate firms. The facility would offer150 job opportunities, 40 percent of which are reserved for Saudi accountants, administrator, security men and receptionists, he said.
The Al-Hokair Group runs 30 hotels in various regions in the Kingdom while 10 new hotels are expected to be commissioned by 2010 at a total cost of SR6 billion, he said.
