RIYADH, 29 November 2007 — Ron Jacobe, a champion in public speaking, particularly in the Gulf Toastmasters Annual Conference (GTAC) in Bahrain in 2001 and in Dubai in 2003, will be the resource speaker of the “Secrets of Versatile Champion Speakers” seminar organized by PICPA Riyadh Toastmasters Club (PRTC). The seminar will be held on Friday at Siteen Palace Hotel, in front of Al Othaim Supermarket, starting at 4 p.m.

Jacobe, a past governor of Toastmasters Area 5 in Riyadh and a member of PRTC, is also a manager at Jarir Bookstore and a people development specialist for over two decades.

The seminar targets those who want to improve their communication skills at work, get a promotion and get paid better by learning the “secrets” of the versatile champion speakers.

The seminar will cover topics such as how to excel on impromptu speech, conquering the stage as a master of ceremonies, how to gain confidence as a public speaker, and other tips on making a difference as a speaker.

“This seminar also aims to invite young students from grade school and high school to prepare them in gaining confidence and a competitive edge for college,” said Ramed Borja, the club’s president for the first term of the program year 2007-2008.

The seminar will also tackle which styles work best when giving an impromptu or prepared speech, whether as main program host or the anchor commentator.

Beginners will be taught on progressing toward becoming professional speakers.

“Scripted, spontaneous or guided by an outline, which is good for a speaker? But more importantly, which is more effective for the audience,” Borja said on what other things can be expected in the seminar.

The seminar is organized as part of the 12th year anniversary celebration of PRTC. “For a dozen years in the Kingdom, the club has helped Filipinos improve their communication and leadership skills,” said Borja.
