MAKKAH, 30 November 2007 — A new headquarters for the Central Haj Committee has been inaugurated in Duqm Al-Waber district in Makkah province, it was announced recently. The new headquarters was established by order of Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal.

The committee is considered to be the most important body to perform and supervise Haj affairs. Members of the committee are selected from different authorities, such as the Ministry of Haj, municipal officials, the Council of Call and Guidance, Ministries of Health, Interior, Commerce and Defense and Aviation.

The committee is tasked with providing all the utilities and services to the pilgrims from their arrival until departure.
