JEDDAH, 3 December 2007 — Al-Ansar, Al-Ittihad and Al-Ahli booked places in the semifinals following victories last night over separate opponents in the Prince Faisal Basketball Championship at the Prince Abadullah Al-Faisal basketball hall here.

Ansar ran over Al-Nahda for their third win 65-53 in the first game.

Ansar qualified first from Group 2.

In the second game, Ittihad more than doubled the total score for Fath winning easily by 90-41.

Ittihad finished first from Group 1.

Ahli scored a 68-49 victory over Al-Nasr to win their second game. Having lost one to Ohud, they will probably end up second in their group behind Ohud. Today’s results will determine who will take second in each group to move on to the semifinal round of six.

On Saturday night, Qadisiya, Hilal, and Nasr all scored victories. Starting the night, Hilal played Fath. Both teams found it difficult to find the basket. Hilal managed to find it a few more times than Fath. Hilal won the game 68 -64.

In the second game, Qadisiya battled Nahda, and with some tight defense, Qadisiya pulled out the win, 66 -60.

Nasr defeated Arabi 82-65 in the third game. The energy level was the difference. Nasr pushed harder, and it seemed like they wanted the win more.
